The History of Living Arrangements for the Developmentally Disabled (LADD)

LADD, a nonprofit tax-exempt organization, was founded in 1975 by concerned citizens who had children with developmental disabilities. With the support of the Hamilton County Board of Mental Retardation through the Mental Retardation Tax Levy and a capital grant from the Ohio Department of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities, LADD started one of the first educational/residential programs for independent living in the Cincinnati area in July 1976. Since LADD opened its doors, hundreds have benefited from our comprehensive education and training programs. Many former LADD participants are now living in a variety of settings throughout the Greater Cincinnati community.
