Living Arrangements for the Developmentally Disabled

The Find A Way and Geier Apartment Program

HUD Housing

At Find A Way Apartments in Oakley and Margaret B. Geier Apartments in Kennedy Heights, LADD provides support to people with a range of disabilities. Ideally located in residential areas of Greater Cincinnati, these apartments offer people the opportunity to live in the community while being close to shopping, banks, churches, recreation facilities, bus routes and expressways. Thirty-nine people live in their own apartments at each of these locations. The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) provides rental subsidies to those living in both apartment buildings.

LADD staff provides support to those living at Find A Way and Geier in the areas of:

  • Assisting with money management
  • Consulting in daily decisions
  • Coordinating community resources
  • Organizing personal shopping
  • Managing health needs, including appointments, medication and follow-up
  • Education and support in areas of safety and refining life skills

Supports provided at Find A Way and Geier Apartments include service coordination, funded through HUD. The Find A Way and Geier Program can provide services to people as long as they are needed, provided adequate resources are available.

All apartments include a refrigerator, electric range and ample closet space. A laundry area is conveniently located on the first floor of each building. Each building has common areas, an indoor recreation room, and a garden area. Safety features in the buildings include security systems, smoke alarms, sprinkler systems and emergency call systems. Live-in property managers oversee each building and are available to respond to emergencies. Accessible apartments are also available at Find A Way and Geier.
