The Victory Parkway Program
Education/Training for Independence
The Victory Parkway Program provides services to a diverse group of twenty-eight adults in one of three group homes or four individual apartment settings. In each group home, eight people live together learning skills that will eventually help them live successfully in the community.
LADD staff provides support and teaches on a daily basis in areas such as:
- Money management
- Meal preparation
- Making responsible choices
- Personal housekeeping and shopping
- Community and personal safety
When people begin the Victory Parkway Program they typically enter in one of three group homes. An Individual Service Plan (ISP) is developed with the person, and their "Team", which identifies their specific service needs, areas of growth and skill development. Each person participates in an on-going process of assessment, planning and education with support from LADD staff and their team. As a person's desires and increased abilities enable them to live with minimal supports they may choose to move to an apartment on the Victory Parkway campus and/or to a community setting.
The individual apartments on the Victory Parkway campus are home to four people who receive minimal support as they refine their skills in a more independent atmosphere. As a person's desires and abilities for a more independent lifestyle increase, LADD staff will assist the person in finding an apartment in the community, coordinating resources and planning for a smooth transition.
